Obituary for Gloria Maples Batson
Gloria Maples Batson, aged 60, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2024. Born on June 23, 1963, in Lucedale, MS. She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Winston "Turp" Maples, Irene Price Maples, and her brother John Franklin Maples. Gloria was a graduate of George County Highschool in Lucedale, MS in 1980. She went on to pursue a lifelong career in banking and retired at age 55. She was a long standing member of Longview Methodist Church in Longview, MS.
She is survived by her husband Mark Barrett Batson, her daughter and son-in-law Tyler and Raysha Hatten Crosland, and her son and daughter-in-law Garrett and Chelsea Batson. She also leaves behind her beloved grandsons Baker and Campbell Crosland along with many loved ones.
Visitation will be held at Moore Funeral Home, 1115 W College Avenue, Wiggins, MS on Thursday February 22, 2024 from 10:00am.-11:00 am. Graveside services will be held at Thomas Price Cemetery, Wiggins, MS directly following.
