In Loving Memory of
Michael Joseph McCarthy, III

Michael Joseph McCarthy, III, passed on to the glory of our Heavenly Father on February 13th, 2024, at the age of 67 surrounded by family and friends.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Saturday, February 17th, 2024, at Memorial Gardens Park Cemetery, 9036 Oktoc Rd, Starkville, MS 39759, with Father Jason Johnston of St. Joseph Catholic Church officiating services. Arrangements are being made by Welch Funeral Home of Starkville, MS.

Michael Joseph McCarthy, III was born in London, England to Michael Joseph McCarthy, Jr. and Carol Williams-McCarthy on September 13th, 1956. He married Vicky Rene Anderson-McCarthy on February 28th, 1974.

He is survived by his wife of forty-eight years, Vicky Rene Anderson-McCarthy; one and only child, Dana McCarthy (Angel); his Grandson, Michael Clayton McCarthy; two brothers, Sean McCarthy, and Kevin McCarthy (Amy) Mother-in-Law, Myrtle Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael Joseph McCarthy, III, is preceded in death by his father, Michael Joseph McCarthy, Jr.; mother, Carol Williams-McCarthy-Burgess; sister, Colleen McCarthy-Roberts; brother Timothy McCarthy; sister, Aileen McCarthy; Grandmother, Mary Williams; and Father-in-Law, Kelton Lee Anderson.

He retired from the Diagnostic Instrumentation and Analysis Laboratory (DIAL), located in the Thad Cochran Research, Technology, and Economic Development Park on MSU’s Starkville campus, where he served as a research laboratory technician. He served in the U.S. Armed Forces as a Sergeant from 1974 to 1980. He enjoyed several hobbies, including working on models and old trucks, and time cruising with family on Carnival.
